During his two-day-day visit the State Secretary responsible for civil society relations in the Prime Minister’s Office, Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky met government representatives and the leaders of religious communities in London and in Oxford on 5-6 February 2019.

The State Secretary responsible for civil society relations in the Prime Minister’s Office, Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky during his visit in London met Lord Pickles, UK’s Special Envoy for post-Holocaust issues in the House of Lords to discuss the two countries’ efforts to support Holocaust education and remembrance initiatives. He was also hosted by FCO State Secretary Lord Ahmad to talk about bilateral relations and initiatives to protect freedom of religion, especially in the context of the persecution of Christians worldwide.

Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky also held a lecture at the Oxford Chabad Society and met representatives of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Jewish Community Centre in London, B’nai B’rith UK and Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali from the Anglican Church. He informed his partners about the projects supported by the Hungarian government to fight anti-Semitism and help the Jewish community in Hungary, among them the new House of Fates concept currently under development in Budapest.
