Ambassador Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky hosted a reception to honour Lieutenant General Sir Barney White-Spunner, former British Army officer who received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary. Sir Barney was influential in developing British-Hungarian historical and cultural ties. Sir Barney supported both the ’Call in the Cavalry’ exhibition on British-Hungarian hussar traditions in the National Army Museum and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s recent concert showcasing Béla Bartók’s and Ferenc Kodály’s music.
